Whether just starting out or with decades of experience, we all need new energy and ideas to help us get out there to find and close new prospects for what we offer. Try just one of these ideas and you will start accelerating your sales.
1. Celebrate the Wins
Start every week by writing down personal and professional wins from the previous week. No matter what is happening in your life there are always wins.
2. Two Conversations A Day
All sales start with conversations. If you have two conversations with prospects every day, you will be successful.
3. Ask, Don’t Judge or Guess
Until you start asking questions, you have no idea what the other person thinks or can afford. Let go of your preconceived notions.
4. Reciprocate with Referrals
Whenever someone refers or recommends you, they are putting their own reputation on the line. Make it safe for them by:
- Promising to keep them informed of the sales progress, good or bad, as you work with the person who was referred.
- Offering to help the person referring you with whatever issues they need help with. What you give, you get.
5. Networking Rules
Always focus on the success of the other person and follow up on any introductions or information he or she asked for. Here are some other simple rules:
- Listen twice as much as you talk.
- Ask how you can help the person you are talking with.
- Invite others into your talking circle.
- After five minutes , politely excuse yourself and find another person or group to interact with.
- Follow up with anything you promised another person before the end of the next day.
6. Build a Peer Group Support
Network marketing is a lonely avocation. We all need reinforcement and people who we can honestly share our challenges with. Use these ideas to surround yourself with the support you need to be successful. Set up a peer group of network sellers who are not related to the organization you represent. Meet at least monthly for a year to build trust and cross-fertilize ideas and referrals with each other.
Use positive psychology to accelerate your week by starting with the wins. Have two prospecting conversations every day. Remember to judge prospect’s interest and ability to buy on what they say and not how they look. Think of the other person when asking for referrals. Follow up promptly from networking events to demonstrate your credibility. Use peer mentoring to support you month in and month out.
