Your Network Marketing Degree

network marketing degree

If you were to approach any large company and conduct an interview with all of the six- and seven-figure earners within the organization, you would most likely find that many of them hold degrees in business, finance, economics, or similar qualifications.

If you were to conduct that same interview with the six- and seven-figure earners in any network marketing organization, you may be surprised by what you find; most hold no degree of any kind, nor do they have business qualifications. Many don’t even have a formal education.

How is it that they earn the same as, if not more, than those with a formal degree, and they have a lot more fun doing it?

Fortunately for us, becoming a top achiever in network marketing isn’t governed by a certificate with your name on it, nor is it determined by any of your past achievements. Rather, it is a collaboration of skills, qualities, and attributes you develop over time by working consistently and persistently on yourself and your business.

It is not quitting when your expectation of early reward is not met, or when you are having a bad day. This persistence and consistency to work on your vision of how you want your life to be is best defined as grit—sticking with your future, day in, day out, not just for a week or a month, but for years.

Generally, only a small percentage of people who embark on a degree program will become high achievers in their chosen subject area. If an actual degree in network marketing were available, you could expect to see a similar pattern.

How can you get to the top in network marketing?

  • Start by being prepared to leave your belief systems, learned behaviors, and conditioned comfort zones at the door! Many who join network marketing believe that what they already know will serve them moving forward. They hold on to past achievements believing that “I’ve got this!”

  • That is not to say that we should discount the skills and experiences that have been learned up until an individual’s network marketing journey begins, but instead, have faith that each person who commits to becoming a professional network marketer has the ability to develop the new skill sets and mindset needed to succeed.

We unquestioningly pay a high price to obtain a formal education, because we have been conditioned to believe that this is the key to having a fruitful and happy life. Most people invest many years and significant financial resources to earn their degrees.

Don’t misunderstand me, becoming a qualified individual gives you a sense of pride and achievement; I know, I was one of them. However, I believe that for most people, it isn’t the knowledge you acquired in the process of getting your degree which drives you. Rather, it is the time and money, married with the emotional investment made into developing yourself that will keep you on the success curve.

Low Financial and Emotional Investment

So, what happens when the investment stakes are low? When the monetary input into a network marketing venture is tiny by comparison and little time or emotion has been invested in thinking about joining the company?

It’s a lot easier to put down and walk away from, right? This is often the experience for a prospect transitioning towards becoming a distributor. If we were to pinpoint the origin of most failures in network marketing, you could most likely boil it down to the low financial and emotional investment.

Imagine if a college degree in network marketing became available and a class of 30 students took a three-year course to study it. Chances are that only 5% would acquire great success, with some doing OK and most never actually pursuing it.

This pattern conforms to the team-building process in network marketing, and to the success ratio in most areas. What‘s interesting is that the large financial and emotional investment you would put into getting a network marketing degree would most likely keep you on the course for much longer, possibly the full three years.

In reality, keeping a new team member in the game for three years would be a dream come true for any recruiter. In reality, most new distributors don’t see their first three years, simply because they have not invested enough time, money, or emotion in preparing themselves personally for their limitless career opportunity.

Here is how you can take it to the next level–and why you should go “all in” with your network marketing business.

Go “All In” with Your Network Marketing Business

What most people fail to see is that the most powerful benefit of this profession is that it is “a personal development course disguised as a business.” I like to think of it as a PhD in Personal Development. Most world leaders in network marketing will tell you the same.

If I were to put my commission check aside, and look at what I have achieved in terms of personal development, the knowledge and understanding, the high emotional intelligence, coaching skills, communication skills and confidence… and so on, it would most likely represent this level of qualification.

No matter at what scale or rate you decide to build your business, after three years you would have the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree in personal development, within four years a master’s degree, and seven years a PhD.

Let that sink in for a minute… YOU can qualify yourself to be the best you can be—and all you need is vision and grit.

If you can’t treat it like a business, or you can’t treat it like a job, then please treat your network marketing business like a course. A personal development or “self-help” course to becoming the best version of yourself.

Think about how this will benefit all the other areas of your life—your job, your interests and hobbies, your personal relationships, your self-awareness and all round well-being, not mention the incredible positive associations you will make because of it.

It’s worth staying with your network marketing business and absorbing its information for that reason alone, even if you don’t intend to go all the way to the top. Going to the top isn’t necessary, personal development really is!

Becoming the Best Possible You

Here at the “University of Network Marketing,” you have the world’s greatest lecturers, trainers, mentors and coaches on tap—people who have carved the tracks for you to run on because they want you to succeed.

Consider for one moment the cost of obtaining a PhD with global world leaders such as Eric Worre as your mentors. You can enjoy this just for getting involved and sticking with your network marketing business!

It’s not the certificate that defines you, it’s what you can do with the knowledge you obtain. Most people will tell you that they have learnt more in a few weeks or months in this business than they have during their entire time spent in formal education. I can tell you that after 16 years in education and 8 years working as a teaching professional, the same is true for myself.

If monetary wealth doesn’t motivate you, or eludes you, then consider the value of what you will learn by being part of this profession, where in order to succeed you have to help others, where your efforts and activity translate into income.
